Technical drawing and dimensional range

Selected M3, M4, M5, M6, M8 and M10 in A2 stainless; A4 configured for M6 and M8. Other diameters and materials on request. Dimensions follow the DIN column of the technical reference, separately from UNI dimensions.

Weight for each size: ND. No weight is transferred from a UNI geometry or another material.

Reduced height limits effective thread engagement. Design the joint for its load and the nut specification; the square shape is not a self-locking feature.

ISO, DIN and UNI: key differences

DIN 562

DIN 562 identifies thin square nuts. The table is a commercial selection reference; confirm tolerances, conformity and mechanical requirements for the requested item.

UNI 5596

Related reference with differences: heights differ for M3–M6; for M10 the listed width is 17 mm UNI versus 16 mm DIN. Do not transfer dimensions between the two series.

Mating components

Compare related nuts for shape and envelope; they are not automatically interchangeable substitutes.

A2 and A4 identify the stainless steel group. Property classes 50, 70 or 80 are not assigned automatically: define mechanical requirements and documentation for supply. Do not replace a regular nut with a thin nut without checking the joint.
