Technical drawing and dimensional range

Verified commercial sizes M5, M6, M8, M10, M12 and M16. Other sizes, heights and threads on request. Width s is measured between parallel faces, not across the diagonal.

Dimensions s and m are commercial selection references. Allow clearance and tolerances in the housing; the square shape does not make the nut self-locking. The listed class identifies the requested commercial version, not every supply in the DIN 557 family.

Other materials and specifications on request

For requirements beyond the tabulated combinations, enquire about aluminium, brass, nylon, duplex, superduplex or an ASTM specification. Alloy or grade, dimensions, mechanical requirements and finish are defined for the enquiry; the geometric reference does not automatically imply conformity with the product standard.

ISO, DIN and UNI: key differences

DIN 557

DIN 557 identifies the chamfered commercial geometry. Dimensions and combinations support product selection; specify supply conformity, property class and tolerances in the order.

UNI 5597

Related reference in commercial catalogues. No exact normative equivalence is claimed; compare geometry and the supply specification.

Mating components

Match nominal diameter, pitch, strength, material, finish and joint conditions.

Joint strength depends on nut class, mating bolt and effective thread engagement. Do not automatically transfer class 8 hexagon-nut pairing rules to this commercial class 6 version.
