DIN 7980
DIN 7980 is withdrawn but remains a commercial designation. Its geometry differs from DIN 127 B. This washer alone does not guarantee protection against vibration-induced loosening.
A split washer with square cross-section and a compact outside envelope for assemblies specifying DIN 7980 geometry. Check bore, section and free height against the screw head and housing.

20 selected metric sizes from M2.5 to M42, with gaps in the range. Limits for the commercial spring-steel series. Other sizes and finishes on request.

Dimensions in mm. Identification drawing, not a manufacturing drawing.

Indicative supplier-catalogue weight for each size in spring steel. This is neither a normative mass nor a certified batch weight; do not transfer it to other materials.

| Material | Class / hardness | Configurable range | Supply |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spring steel | 430–530 HV | M2.5–M42 | On request |
Other sizes, coatings and A2/A4 stainless versions on request. Stainless variants require their own dimensions and properties; they do not inherit spring-steel hardness or mass.
| Finish | Material | Class / hardness | M |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plain / as manufactured | Spring steel | 430–530 HV | M2.5–M42 |
| Electroplated zinc | Spring steel | 430–530 HV | M2.5–M42 |
Plain oiled or zinc-plated versions. For coated spring steel, define the process, any hydrogen-relief treatment and inspection requirements; these are not implied by the finish name alone.

Batch documents are not automatically included: specify your requirements in the RFQ.
Compare envelopes and assembly requirements; the socket head screw link is not automatic approval of the joint.
Suitability depends on the joint and preload. It does not replace a verified locking system for high-strength joints; assess the locking solution for the application.
Other diameters, lengths, materials and finishes can be assessed on request. For dedicated production, we agree geometry, requirements and minimum quantities with the customer.
