Rivet materials

Rivet materials: aluminium, steel, stainless A2 and A4, copper and polymers. Selection criteria for body, mandrel and exposure.

Body and mandrel: two distinct choices.

Rivet materials: always identify the body/mandrel combination.
BodyMandrel / pinSelection check
AluminiumAluminium or steel, part-specificCheck alloy, exposure and dissimilar-metal contact.
SteelSteel with specified finishSpecify coating and corrosion requirements.
Stainless A2A2 where declaredDistinguish body and mandrel; do not infer a strength class.
Stainless A4A4 where declaredCheck composition and exposure; no blanket suitability for all marine conditions.
CopperSteel or brass, design-specificAssess electrical contact, finishes and galvanic compatibility.
Cupronickel / nickel-copper alloysAccording to specificationDo not equate generic names with specific commercial alloys.
PolymersDesign-specific pinIdentify polymer, temperature, UV and fire behaviour.

Galvanic corrosion requires electrical continuity and an electrolyte. Assess contacting metals, exposure and any joint isolation. A decorative finish is not a substitute for a corrosion-protection specification.

Frequently asked questions.

How do I choose rivet length?

Measure the stack and select a part whose minimum–maximum grip includes that thickness. Body length and grip are different dimensions.

What hole diameter is required?

Use the diameter and tolerance in the individual part specification. There is no universal allowance across families; check burrs, ovality and alignment.

Is a stainless rivet always suitable for marine use?

Check body and mandrel alloy, exposure, chlorides and joined materials. The words stainless or A4 do not qualify the complete joint.

How can I request a quotation and technical documents?

Send the family or code, dimensions, grip, materials, quantity and documentation requirements. Dueemme Sidol checks the specification and availability before confirmation.

Prepare your technical enquiry.

Complete the specification: the summary will transfer to the company form, where you can add your contact details and attachments. Nothing is sent from this page.
